“10 Great Dates”
Join couples as they meet together as a group for their “date launch.” They then go out on a date with their partner and learn to communicate better, process anger and resolve conflicts, appreciate differences, encourage each other, develop spiritual intimacy and balance busy lifestyles. The video presentation is facilitated by Dave and Claudia Arp, and Drs. Rosario and Angie Slack. There will be a different topic every month. “Building a Better Brotherhood”
This fatherhood initiative is designed to allow men of all marital status to meet and discuss issues concerning dating, marriage, parenting and career paths from a “male perspective.” The program is in its developmental stages, but we welcome any ideas or questions you may have about our upcoming events.
“10 Rites of Passage…Ten Steps Rites of Passage"
This curriculum is a community initiative to introduce youth into the requisites of adult hood. This educational curriculum seeks to encourage and empower family hood by promoting marriage, parenting and social responsibility for at-risk youth, self, family and community with a focus on long-term goals. The Rites of Passage Program promotes interdependence between self, family, community, and the world. The program is a character building model, which promotes self esteem, self-discipline, self-determination, self-sufficiency.**
Basic Training for Couples…A Black Marriage Education Curriculum for Couples, Instructors and Organizations
Designed to help our community to form and sustain healthy marriages. The curriculum comes with an instruction book, worksheets and an introduction and review of each session. Dr. Rozario Slack and Nisa Islam Muhammad, are co-creators of this video based curriculum. Celebrating Real Family Life is certified to teach the curriculum. "Loving Ourselves, Loving Our Men"
This pre-marital and marriage initiative teaches all women regardless of marital or racial status to understand the significant connection between her thoughts, heart and spirit and her success with loving the man in her life. Penny Jones, former Southeast Regional Director of Mocha Moms, Inc. and a certified facilitator of best-selling book "The Surrendered Wife: A Practical Guide to Finding Intimacy, Passion and Peace with a Man" by Laura Doyle, created this program for this much needed approach to strengthening marriages and pre-marital relationships.**
